3rd Annual Wasaga Beach Blues and Home & Leisure Show , Sept 13-15 at the Stonebridge Town Centre.

Southern Blues on the Main Stage at Wasaga Beach Blues
(Wasaga Beach, ON July 31, 2013) Wasaga Beach will sound a little more like Mississippi this September during the Third Annual Wasaga Beach Blues, Sept 13-15 at the Stonebridge Town Centre.
Dexter Allen, based in Jackson Mississippi, wil play at the Boogie Woogie Blues Banquet on Thurday Sept. 12, the Main Stage on Saturday Sept 14 at 5:45 p.m. and as part of the Mississippi AllStars— along with D’Mar & Gill— on the Main Stage Sunday Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.
 “My performance will bring a mixture of Mississippi traditional blues with soul, funk, and gospel,” the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist says.
This songwriter who got his start in the church, plays guitar, bass and keyboards. In 2011 Allen released his current CD Bluezin For Life. He won the Jackson Music Awards 2009 Entertainer of the Year Award and the 2008 Jackson Music Award for Male Vocalist of the year. Visit www.dexterallen.com.
D’Mar & Gill will open Wasaga Beach Blues with a performance on the Main Stage on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. Based in Mississippi and California, D’Mar & Gill features vocalist Chris Gill who plays National Steel, acoustic and electric guitars. Drummer Derrick Martin also plays the congas.
Their musical mentors are: Muddy Waters, Peter Green, Earl Hooker, Duane Allman, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Rev. Gary Davis, Elizabeth Cotten, Vaughn Brothers, Olu Dara, Robert Johnson and more.
 “Our performance will bring a tasty bluesy gumbo. A mix of rhythm, funky grooves, a little dash of Taj Mahal, John Hurt and Rev. Gary Davis. Lots of original Mississippi mojo,” Gill says.
 D’Mar & Gill’s latest CD Live is from the Southside Shuffle is a hint of just how interactive and energetic their performances are. Get ready to dance. They’re expected to get back to the studio this summer to record another CD.
 Other acts scheduled for Wasaga Beach Blues: The Legendary Downchild Blues Band, The Paul James Band,  Irene Torres and The Sugar Devils, Jack de Keyzer and Mark ‘Bird’ Stafford’s Junior Jam, and A Tribute to the Last Waltz, The Music of The Band.
 The Stonebridge Boulevard Street Shuffle will feature 12 bands on Saturday Sept. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. Wasaga Beach Blues, will also feature performances at Boston Pizza and Wild Wing. For 2013, the Wasaga Beach Home & Leisure Show, hosted by Beach Booster will be held in conjunction with the festival on Sept. 14 and 15 at The Stonebridge Town Centre. While Wasaga Beach Blues is a free music festival, donations are gratefully accepted. All donations will go to support the new Wasaga Beach Public Library.
 The Blues has a new home in Wasaga Beach.
