  1. To comment on your article on Page 6 regarding the Wishing Well Cottages, all I can say is that my experience with them mid October of this year was unbelievably awful. We had a reservation there from Oct. 12 to 15 in their "deluxe 2 bedroom apartment". We were travelling from Nova Scotia to attend my step-daughter's wedding in Collingwood, and this looked like a decent place to stay. We sent the deposit as required, and when it was time, we started our drive to Wasaga Beach, anticipating the wedding and our stay in Ontario. Shortly after we crossed into Ontario, we e-transferred the balance owing to Robin at her request, so that we could have the lock code to the door of our cottage when we arrived that evening. So we pulled into one of Ontario's lovely rest stops, and my husband did as requested, in good faith. That evening, shortly prior to our arrival in Wasaga Beach, Robin was messaging me, saying "Welcome Susan and friends" and that she would not be there when we arrived but James would be there to greet us. This was about 10 minutes before we arrived at our destination, after several hours of driving. When we arrived, the "deluxe apartment" was anything but. It was filthy and smelled strongly of must and smoke. There was nothing in it that was portrayed on the web site showing the facility. There were several things that were supposed to be there in the cottage, that were not there. The smell had a negative effect on my breathing, so we told James that we would not be staying. By some strange coincidence, I was no longer able to get in touch with Robin by phone or message, although less than 1/2 hour earlier, she was very available. James asked us to stay the night and see Robin in the morning, but I could just not stay in something that dirty and smelly so told him that no, we would not be keeping the accommodations. We then left and went into Collingwood and found alternate accommodations that were excellent. According to the cancellation agreement on our contract, if we had done as he asked and stayed, as of the 13th we would receive no refund. I believe this is what they were trying to do. Because we cancelled on the date we arrived, Oct. 12, we are supposed to get a refund, less the deposit. To this date, I have been unsuccessful at contacting Robin, with the exception of one email telling me that I would not be getting any refund. She has ignored all my calls and messages and emails, which has been very frustrating. It certainly put a sour note on our trip. So the purpose of this message is to warn others to beware of this place and this person, who is very untrustworthly, and if you are looking for accommodations at Wasaga Beach, keep looking past this poor excuse of a place. So extremely disappointed with the way I have been treated by Robin, I have a belief in the goodness of people in general, but she has certainly put a different slant on that belief. I would like it if you printed my critique of the Wishing Well and let people know the truth about it. If you have any questions, please message me, and unlike Robin, I will respond. Thank you.
